April 5: Most indexes gain ground

UPCoM-Index the only loser as VN-Index gains 0.14%.

Most indexes on Vietnam’s stock market gained ground on April 5.

On HSX, the VN-Index closed at 1,193.17 points, up 1.63 points (0.14 per cent), and the VN30-Index 1,169.12 points, up 3.37 points (0.29 per cent).

On HNX, the HNX-Index finished at 136.75 points, up 1.43 points (1.06 per cent), while the HNX30-Index closed at 261.46 points, up 3.07 points (1.19 per cent). The UPCoM-Index finished the day at 60.42 points, down 0.04 points (0.07 per cent).

Liquidity on HSX was VND5.4 trillion ($236.6 million) and VND855.3 billion ($37.5 million) on HNX.

Most large food and beverages shares gained ground, with KDC, DQG and TAC rising 3.2, 2.8 and 0.2 per cent, while VNM lost 1.4 per cent and VCF 0.1 per cent. TLG and BBC closed at their opening price.

Some large banking shares gained: BVH, STB, MBB and VCI by 6.1, 0.6, 0.5 and 0.1 per cent, as BID lost 1.8 per cent, VPB 0.9 per cent, and MSN 0.5 per cent. VCB, SSI and EIB closed at their opening price.

In energy, NT2 gained 7 per cent, PVD 2.2 per cent, PGD 1.2 per cent, PPC 1.1 per cent and PVT 0.9 per cent, while PLX lost 1.3 per cent and GAS 0.1 per cent.

The Top 5 shares bought by foreign investors were NVL (VND108.8 billion ($1.99 million)), CII (VND23.5 billion ($1.03 million)), KBC (VND20.7 billion ($907,220)), BVH (VND18.6 billion ($815,180)), and VND (VND18 billion ($788,885)).

On HSX, VJC was the largest net sold share, with (VND54.6 billion ($2.4 million)), followed by GAS (VND42.1 billion ($1.8 million)), BID (VND35.9 billion ($1.57 million)), VIC (VND26.3 billion ($1.1 million)), and VCB (VND20.7 billion ($907,220)).

On HNX, VGC was the largest net sold share, with VND13.4 billion ($1.2 million), NDN (VND3 billion ($131,480)), DBC (VND2.87 billion ($125,785)), PVS (VND2.7 billion ($118,330)), and VIX (VND2.3 billion ($100,800).

On UPCoM, foreign investors bought 2,736,490 shares worth VND200.80 billion ($8.8 million).

They net bought on HSX by VND1.58 billion ($69,245) and net sold on HNX by VND8.11 billion ($355,440).
